Injecting drugs is by far the most dangerous way to take them. All of the blood borne virus campaigns are aimed at injecting drug users. In addition there are safer injecting campaign resources designed to target specific causes of injecting related harm including poor injecting technique, poor hand hygiene and poor injecting site hygiene. The resources will include a DVD for injectors, and a veincare booklet that describes the causes of injecting site injury and offers advice on how to prolong the life of superficial veins, and to reduce the risk of infections and other problems. The DVD also contains information on the importance of hygiene and blood borne viruses. For details of the safer injecting resources, click on the links to the right.
